The Project
The smartest way to add a pool to a new house: do it first
Chris and Tony were building from scratch. Instead of waiting until the house was finished and then trying to crane a pool over a fence or through a side gate — the expensive way most pool jobs go — we worked with the house builder to install the Vogue 8.2 first, put it to sleep, and let the build go up around it.
The timing
House builder did the site cut. We installed the pool. House builder built the house around it.
Coordinating with the house builder meant we had clear access to the entire block — no fences, no obstacles, no narrow gates. We craned the pool in, filled it with water, installed the concrete beam, ran the equipment pipes to their final location.
Putting it to sleep
A protection lid sealed the pool so the house build could walk over it for months without damage.
Once filled and plumbed, we covered the pool with a heavy-duty protection lid. The construction team could move materials and people across the area without worry. Pipes were run to where the equipment would eventually live — ready to be hooked up when the house was lock-up.
Waking it up
At lock-up we returned, removed the lid, installed equipment — family moved in to a pool ready to use.
While Chris and her family were moving in, the landscapers were finishing the paving. The pool was already there, already filled, already plumbed. Trying to do the same job after the house is built would have meant lifting equipment over a finished roofline, with cranes that don’t fit, on a site there’s no longer access to. Easily double the cost, sometimes triple.

The Vogue 8.2 in Royal Blue carries weight against the contemporary house. Self-cleaning runs underwater, the gas heater extends the season, the automatic filler means Chris and Tony don’t have to check water levels, and the deck jet adds a moving-water feature that becomes the focal point at evening.
