The Compass Pools Melbourne Story
Compass Pools Melbourne Pty Ltd. (formerly Compass Pools Vic) was founded as a pool building company by Ted and Lyn Martin in 1981. We have been selling and installing Compass fibreglass pools since their second year of operation and are now the longest standing dealer in the Compass dealer network. Ted and Lyn’s son Adam Martin, with Ian Mewett, has been instrumental in developing the Vantage in-floor self-cleaning and circulation system. CPM have installed well over several thousand systems and are the biggest installer of Vantage in-floor self-cleaning system in the world. Adam Martin also developed the fibreglass negative edge and free-standing pools. He is recognised as a force within the pool construction industry and has used this information to develop the most advanced installation methods for our pool installations.
When we first started as a pool building company back in 1981, we wanted to represent a swimming pool product that would enhance our strong commitment to quality building.
After looking at what the industry had to offer, there were no comparisons to Compass pools in 1981 and there are still no comparisons today.

I started with a pool builders who aim was to sell and install the quickest cheapest way and what I saw didn’t sit well with my ethics.
John Constance (JC) will make sure you don’t get a lemon! He loves meeting people and getting to know what is important to them and their families.
Max Collins has been with our company since December 1999 and has been very successful in selling hundreds of our unique pools.
Our Planning Team
Our team of six, are very passionate about the planning process as this is a very important stage that happens behind the scenes. You will have two separate site meetings that are designed for you to consider all the different options and the building process. This will all take place whilst your pool is being custom manufactured in the factory.
Our Construction Crew
Our crews usually operate as two very separate stages. Our excavation crew concentrate on excavation & base preparation as well as drainage, trenching and pool placement as they set up for the installation. Once the pool is in place the installation takes place which is the plumbing of the pool to the equipment, backfilling, getting the pool ready to swim in and then completing the engineered concrete works.

CPM is a system based company. We have found that over the last 30 years the only way you can keep good people is by having good systems. Compass Employ’s a 24hour answering service which enables us to enact with the every growning digital, verbal, sms queries from our customers as efficiently as possible.
