What if there’s no Compass Pools Melbourne?
What happens if our company is not there in the future? This has been a question that people have been a little bit too polite to ask but has been real anxiety for them. There are two things I want to say about this concern, and it is a legitimate concern. As a consumer, when you purchase a swimming pool and engage a building permit to have it built, you have a protection insurance policy called homeowner’s warranty insurance. If anything were to happen to Compass Pools Melbourne, either during the build or within the warranty period of our installation warranty, this policy will then activate and your project will be completed and any warranty will be honoured. So you will be covered if the worst happens and our company was not there in the future.
Our first pool award
The second part I would like to say about that question is that Compass Pools Melbourn was established by my parents in the early ’80s, have been through now three major recessions and this will obviously be our next hurdle. We do have a lot of experience in expansion and contraction as these times happen. So it’s a legitimate concern, but we are very comfortable that we will be on the other side. I would just like to show you one of the first awards that we did win. I think it was in 1989 and the ’80s was a particularly tough time for the swimming pool industry, especially in Melbourne. And this was an award that we won when no other fibreglass pool builders were around and it was a huge achievement for them in a very, very tough environment and a tough era.
A proud history of pool building and innovations
This award is actually one of everyone’s favourite. It was in 1989, it’s faded, it’s quite possibly not an attractive looking pool by any means in today’s society, but it really represents a time when we were all working very hard. I was obviously too young then, but to create an industry and a product that we did believe. We were working at the time with the manufacturer, Compass Pools Australia and we were developing the fibreglass market here in Melbourne and Victoria. So we do have a very proud history, we do recognise that it is a very tough time, but we do look forward to working with you in this time and in the future.
